Anik & Emil was designed as a concept art exercise for an independent study. The film follows bold independent Emil who will refuse help from anyone and sheepish but creative Anik who doesn't know how to help himself.
The two will have to venture out of their warm lively village into the cold tundra of the glacier in order to find the source of mysterious evil creatures.
E MIL – Protagonist
E MIL – Protagonist
EMIL is one of two protagonists of the film. She is a head-strong, confident, bold young lady. She doesn't receive much respect due to her small stature and is determined to prove herself. However, she refuses to rely on anyone else, and instead ties her self-worth to the amount she can accomplish on her own.
By the end of the film she learns to accept help from others.

A NIK – Protagonist
A NIK – Protagonist
ANIK is the film's other protagonist. He is a shy gentle soul with a knack for crafts. He is, unfortunately very shy and lacks the ability to trust his own ability. He never shares his creativity and works to please others.
By the end of the film he learns to respect himself and become his most authentic earnest self.

THE WORLD
THE WORLD
The film is set in a fantastical artic environment with a warm oasis village set in the heart of it. The film is fundamentally about community and getting help.
The world is full of bubbly goofy characters and creatures. Which contrasts against the harsher jagged icy environment.
